That SAS Gallerie at the Louisiana Boardwalk is transitioning into an artist cooperative gallery. Local artists will now run the gallery under the umbrella of Sanctuary Arts School. The CEO and Artistic Director of Sanctuary Arts School (SAS) Eric Hess says over the last three years during bi-monthly art openings at the gallery many artists said they wanted to find an opportunity to have their work appear in a local gallery throughout the year and have the ability to participate in running a gallery. The Board of SAS decided to turn the management of the Gallery over to the local artists and have the gallery showcase the artwork of these artists.
